Florida Division of Forestry,
The Stone Gable Property Owners Association in Winter Springs, Florida would like to formally
acknowledge our support for the City of Winter Springs requesting a Grant Stimulus Funding for
trees and sustainable landscaping through the Federally Funded, Florida Division of Forestry,
2009/2011 Forest Health Improvement Grant Program Initiative.
The City of Winter Springs is a beautiful City in which to work and play, and hosts an amazing
parks and trail system. These systems are enhanced by the City's beautiful trees. My family
specifically enjoys walking the Cross Seminole Trail along State Road 434 to attend City
functions at nearby Central Winds Park. The experience is made that much better with the
previously grant - funded trees in place, adding not only shade to the area but also reducing winds
and improving the air quality. The City of Winter Springs has been a Tree City USA for more
than 20 years and recently earned the prestigious Sterling Community award.
The Stone Gable Subdivision is located directly across from the Cross Seminole Trail, and we
feel fortunate that the City of Winter Springs has invested so much time and money into building
and maintaining their network of parks. We have also seen the City add beauty to the traffic
medians through the use of low water / low maintenance trees and plants. We know that the City
of Winter Springs will continue to utilize any additional grant funding to the greatest benefit of
its citizens, and toward the continued improvement of its parks and right of ways.
Sincerely,
Kevin Roesner
Vice President and Board Member
