Re: Maintenance Assessment Increase per notice dated August 20, 2025
We do NOT consider the improvements suggested, namely removing and replacing existing
streetlights and signage. The decorative lampposts were recently updated to LED lights and
the signage isclearandvisible. Repla ci ng at th is ti m e wo u Id be a wa ste of taxpayer m o n ey
and resources.
Additionally, the streets within Tuscawilla are cityowned streets not exclusive to Tuscawilla
residents. Many ofourfriends and neighbors outside of the Tuscawilla area enjoywalking,
jogging, biking and traveling through on our beautiful treelined streets. It should not bethe
responsibility of Tuscawilla residents exclusively to absorb the cost of maintenance or
upgrades to city owned streets. If such an improvement is needed, it should be assessed to
alL Winter Springs taxpayers. The streetlights and signage are city owned property not
Tuscawilla owned property.
We reside at 623 Morgan St, WinterSprings. We have no existing decorative street lights or
lampposts on our street. Rather, we have two (2) municipal lights towards the end of our
street. The above proposed "improvements" would have no improvement to any resident
on Morgan Street. If this proposalwere to pass as written, the residents on Morgan Street
and other public, city roads throughout Tuscawilla without decorative streetlights should
be exempt from any and all additionaltax increase.
In short, we OBJECTto this improvement proposal.
