F~ORIOA 32708 Telephone (407) 32T-t 800 MEMORANDUM TO: Ron McLemore, City Manager THRU: Charles C. on, AICP Community nt Director FROM: Jimette Cook, Code Enforcement Specialist DATE: March 4,1998 RE: February 1998 Monthly Report CODE ENFORCEMENT 1~viONTHLY REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 1998 OPEN CASES 9 PENDING CASES 22 PROBLEMS CORRECTED (~ R~ TO CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD 2 TOTAL 99 During the month of February, the Code Enforcement Division handled 99 total cases; 22 are pending, 66 are corrected, 2 were referred to Code Enforcement Board and 9 are open. Two new Police Officers received training from the Code Enforcement Division on some basic procedures. Don LeBlanc and Jimette Cook received training from the Police Department on citation writing and are certified and re-certified respectively to issue Code Enforcement Citations. Jimette Cook met with the Public Works department to work on revision to the Arbor Ordinance. Concerns were addressed and outlined for future consideration. ~_ - - February 1998 Monthly Report March 4,1998 Page 2 Plans for a Code Enforcement Board Seminar were made to be held on April 1, 1998, at 6:00 P.M at the Civic Center. The. speaker will be Bob Hamilton, former Orlando City Attorney and judge. Alight supper will be served. Jimette Cook, Don Houck, and Building Inspectors met with the State Bureau of Professional Regulation Inspectors and toured the area of Winter Springs affected by a tornado to provide homeowners with information about choosing a home contractor to do home repairs. Contractors on-site were advised of requirements to pull building permits before beginning any major repairs. A request for permission to allow special signs during the Parade of Homes was made before the City Commission on behalf of the Home Builders Association. A request for permit to allow the parking and occupation of an oversized recreational vehicle was prepared for approvaUdenial of the City Commission. Staff attended training seminars on the computer program, Windows 95.
