ane pending, seventy-two uses were brought into compliance,one new case referred to the
Code Enforcement Board, and two Code Enforcement Citations were issued by the Police Dept.,
both for a Barking Dog violation of S ]00.00 each, for a total of ]40 cases.
Three cases were brought before the Code Enforcement Board is January. One case was
in compliance, and two were continued until the February hearing pending an Administrative
decision on off-site signage. Arrangements were initiated to sei up a Code Enforcement Board
Workshpp through the Institate of Government ai the University of Central Florida.
The Community Deveiopmeat Department met to develop Goals and Objectives for the next five
years. The Code Enforcement Division set goals for 1998. A job description was prepared for
an EuvironmentaUCode Inspector sad interviewing for the position will begin soon.
Changes to the packet of ir~f'ormation for the Code Enforcement Board members were explained
to the members and an informational session was held to answer any questions the members
had concerning their role in a Quasi jadicial Board The Board expressed as interest in re.serving
30 minutes to att hour at the end of each hearing to address any cottcerns or questions about
due process procedures or evidence puroblems.
A meeting was held with Seminole County Environmental Waste to develop a good ]ine of com-
munication between agencies Plans were made with Seminole County Code Enforcement to hold a
county-wide meeting between agencies.
Changes to the time schedule pertaining to the Code Enforcemerrt Board agenda were made in
accordance with Florida Statutes and with the cooperation of the Deputy City C]erk, allowing for
swifter prosecution of Code Enforcement cases.
A meeting was held with Tuscawi]la Trails and the Building Official to develop a schedule for Tusca-
willa Trail to complete the requirements for construction and landscaping as set forth in their site
