HomeMy WebLinkAboutProposed Landscaping EnhancementPROPOSED LANDSCAPING ENHANCEMENT The Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Board is proposing additional im- provement that will result in an increase of the yearly maintenance assessments. Q: Wby is this project being proposed? A: These improvements represent an important part of the Advisory Board's plan to increase property values by enhancing the image that Oak Forest presents to the market place. As you probably know, property values increased dramatically following the completion of the initial improvements which included construction of the wall on Tuskawilla Road and landscaping. Q: What improvement are being proposed? A: The Board proposes to install new landscaping that will greatly enhance the beauty of the wall along Tuskawilla Road. They also propose to install new irrigation along the wall to preserve both new and existing plant material. Q: Will I have the opportunity to provide input on this proposal? A: Yes. All property owners are invited to attend the Public Hearings that have been scheduled by the City Commission. Property owners are en- couraged to share their comments at these Public Hearings. Q: What is a Benefit Unit? A: Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District assessments have three tiers based upon benefits received by the improvement as follows: Tier 1=1.00 Benefit Units for Beautification. Tier 2 =1.10 Benefit Units for Beautification and Road Noise Reduction. Q: How will the various tiers be affected by the proposed increase? A: See Table below for tier rate change schedule. Q: How do I know what tier I am in? A: There are two ways to find out. First, by review- ing your cttrrent tax bill. Second, by reviewing the Public Hearing Notice sent with this flyer. Q: What will the improvement cost? A: The proposed improvement will cost less than 580,000.00 to install. Q: Will this cause my annual assessment to in- crease? A: The improvements will result in your mainte- nance assessment increasing 516.82 per year or 51.40 per month, per benefit unit. There would be no increase in your capital assessment as a result of these improvement.
