2010 01 14 Other - Budget Report provided to the Committee Members
Date: January 14, 2010 The attached document was distributed and discussed with the Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District Advisory Committee during Regular Agenda Items by Mr. Steven Richart at the January 14, 2010 Regular TLBD Meeting. .ayiNTtA, S '°r City of Winter Springs Oak Forest Wall and Beautification District (OFWBD) Overview Urban Beautification Division Meeting Report January 14, 2010 Steven T. Richart Office: 407- 327 -5976 Fax: 407- 327 -6695 Email: srichart(a,winterspringsfl.org A. Buduet Review 1. YTD budget report 191 Oak Forest Maintenance (Sent Via Email on 1/11/10) B. Reports and Information Central Florida Landscaping and Maintenance (CFL) is performing to standard with extra attention requested in irrigation monitoring. Lightscapes Outdoor Lighting is performing to standard on the low voltage lighting. TruGreen is performing to standard on the chemical applications. The entrance annuals are scheduled to be replaced after the freezes subside. Mulching of the planter beds has been completed. Much of the dead and dying plant material has been replaced along Tuskawilla Road and the Oak Forest Wall. There are still several areas where plants will be replaced in the coming months, after the cold weather subsides. Irrigation heads at all of the Oak Forest entrance signs have been relocated to spray away from the signs, hopefully preventing moisture build -up on painted surfaces. Repairs have been made at Trotwood Boulevard where the line supplying power to the North side of the entrance has been replaced with a new service panel located directly behind the entrance wall. Power for the lights and irrigation was out for several months (starting in August '09) while Progress Energy was installing a new pedestal. As a result, some of the plant material between the Forest Creek Entrance and the North end of the Oak Forest Wall became very stressed due to lack of water. The City Commission has approved contracts with NBS Government Services Group and NG &N for OFWBD Assessment District Services at a cost savings of 3,172 annually. As part of the new contract with NBS, staff will have access to the D -Fast System which will provide information in real -time regarding the assessment district. (Agenda Item Sent Via Email on 1 /11 /10) Costs for reclaimed water have recently been increased by the City and will affect the budget for utilities.
