OnMarch 10th, 2000, I sent a letter to each of you with courtesy copes to those officials shown below. As expected, it appears that nObing has been done by anyone to resolve the matter. Despite re- pea,ed written assurances from the OFHA that the problem has been re~lved, that is not the position of the city. I made my final att~pt today to resolve the problem. At 9:30 AM today, my attorney and I met at Tract B with Mr. Jerry Hccdlu., Seminole County Engineer, and his assistant, Mr. John Moon. Among sever a I issues discussed a nd agreed to, per haps the issu{ of access to Oak Forest Lake by the City of Winter Springs to treat for ~quatic weeds (waterlilies and spatterdock) may be of interest to you. Hy attorney and I agreed with Mr. McCollum that I would grant the City of uinter Springs a per.anent deeded easement to access the lake from Tuscawilla Road at the southern.ost area of Tract B, where it joins the property of Hark and Laura Jones. r agreed to grant an easement with sufficient room to permit a truck and boat trailer to enter and maneuver in such a manner as to preclude backing into the property from Tuscawilla Road. Hr. McCollum stated that he would contact the City and agreed that he wau ld place a curb cut at the poi nt of desi red entry, SHOULD THE CITY ASK HIM TO DO SO t BUT 00bY IF THE CITY REQUESTED A CURB CUT! of course, if a curb cut is installed, it will be necessary for the City to provide gated access through the wall. T'here is reason to believe that the city is preparing to return re- sponsibility for treating the lake to the property owners abutting the lake. Is this what you want? If not., suggest you contact the elected officials below and make your concern known. They meet the second and fourth Monday of each month at City Hall at 6:30 PM. This is an elec- tion year and three of the five seats are to be filled this November! Should we allow waterlilies and spatterdock to overcome the lake, our property values will diminish accordingly.
