ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MEETING
FEBRUARY 27, 2003
I. CALL TO ORDER
II/Jr. Chuck Pula, Parks and Recreation Department Director called the Meeting to order at
7:02 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2003 in the East Training Room of the Municipal
Building (City Hall, 1126 East State Road 434, Winter Springs, Florida 32708).
Roll Call:
Committee Member Diane Ferraro, present
Committee Member Gene Lein, present
Committee Member Richard Parsons, present
Committee Member Ann Pennington, arrived at 7:06 p.m.
Committee Member Bob Rucci, present
Committee Member Paul Williams, present

A.. Approval Of The January 23, 2003 Meeting Minutes.
"I MOVE TO APPROVE." MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER WILLIAMS.
SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER RUCCI. DISCUSSION. WITH
CONSENSUS OF THE COMMITTEE, THE MOTION WAS APPROVED.
MOTION CARRIED.
III. REGULAR

A. Committee Discussion Of The City Commission Workshop On January 27, 2003
(Comments And Direction).
Mr. Pula distributed a copy of the January 27, 2003 City Commission Workshop
Minutes. Discussion developed.
Committee Member Ann Pennington arrived at 7:06 p.m.

The Committee reiterated their desire to not charge the public for "Use of the Park";
discussed raising funds through a non-profit organization; spoke of recommending to the
City Commission that the City Attorney help with the non-profit organization's "Legal
work"; and discussed holding a fundraiser at the end of May 2003 at Central Winds Park.
Committee Member Gene Lein stated in regards to the January 26, 2003 City
Commission Workshop Minutes, "The comment under my name is incorrect. I had
stated that there are several locations in our park systems. I had with me a drawing of
Trotwood Park, I didn't have the drawings for the other places and this states I proposed
a portion of Trotwood Park."

1~. Committee Discussion Of Alternate Sites For Temporary Paw Park.
Mr. Pula distributed information on potential parcels to the Committee Members.
Committee Member Lein departed the Meeting at 7:30 p.m.

next Meeting.

C. Public Input.
Ms. Leah Wiseman, 113 Brookshire Court, Winter Springs, Florida: informed the
Committee, "I would love to raise money."
Ms. Betty Dinsmartin, 664 White Oak Court, Winter Springs, Florida: informed the
Committee that she "Would be willing to help" with fundraising.
IV. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
This Agenda Item was not discussed.

1\1r. Pula suggested that Committee Member Paul Williams submit a letter to the City,
advising the Commission that he is no longer a City resident, but wishes to remain on the
Committee. Committee Member Williams stated, "I will have it to you by this week."

BY COMMITTEE MEMBER RUCCI. SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER
PARSONS. DISCUSSION.

APPROVED.
MOTION CARRIED.
The Meeting was adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
