ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MEETING
JANUARY 23,2003
I. CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Chuck Pula, Parks and Recreation Department Director called the Meeting to order at
7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2003 in the East Training Room of the Municipal
Building (City Hall, 1126 East State Road 434, Winter Springs, Florida 32708).

Committee Member Gene Lein, present
Committee Member Richard Parsons, present
Committee Member Ann Pennington, present

II. CONSENT
CONSENT
A. Approval Of The October 24, 2002 Meeting Minutes.
"I WILL MAKE A MOTION TO APPROVE THEM [MINUTES]." MOTION BY
COMMITTEE MEMBER RUCCI. SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER
LEIN. DISCUSSION. WITH CONSENSUS OF THE COMMITTEE, THE
MOTION WAS APPROVED.
MOTION CARRIED.
III. REGULAR
REGULAR
A. Committee Discussion And Finalization Of Presentation Of Committee Report
And Concept Plan For The City Commission Workshop On January 27, 2003.
The Committee discussed various alternate locations for the construction of the Paw
Park, and the Committee's presentation to the City Commission at the January 27, 2003
Workshop.

Mr. Pula recommended to the Committee "That if you present it, present it from the
aspect of - we would really like to continue this process and look at alternate sites. The
other direction frorn this Committee is to encourage the City to continue to pursue
discussions with the County to expedite this process."
Mr. Mark Kaiser, Project Manager, Starmer Ranaldi Planning and Architecture, Inc.
(sri), 890 Northern Way, Winter Springs, Florida: presented updated conceptual
drawings of the Paw Park.
After reviewing the drawings, the Committee requested a separate entryway from the
parking lot be added to the "Small Dog Area".

B. Chuck Pula, Parks And Recreation Director Informing The Committee
Regarding A Meeting With Seminole County Commissioner Randy Morris.
After a brief discussion regarding the Meeting with Seminole County Commissioner
Randy Morris and City of Winter Springs City Manager Ronald W. McLemore, Mr. Pula
suggested the Committee "Encourage the Commission to have the Manager pursue
discussions with Randy Morris".
Committee Member Gene Lein departed the Meeting at 7:36 p.m.

C. Public Input.
Mr. Ken Barr, 1613 Slash Pine Place, Oviedo, Florida: was in favor of the project.
Ms. l.eah Wiseman, 113 Brookshire Court, Winter Springs, Florida: suggested that
Trotwood Park could be utilized for the Paw Park.
