Using the Internet as a resource to fill vacancies

In 2006, WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA conducted
the State of the Workforce: Central Florida Study, a
Needs Assessment and Key State of the Workforce
Report for the Region. Surveys were conducted to
identify the workforce challenges employers anticipate
in the next three years, as well as the most effective
means of recruiting workers and the proper training
and development needed to meet employer demands
for skilled workers.

Employers in the engineering, retail trade and
manufacturing industries rank highest for
immediate expansion plans.

67% of respondents stated that the lack of
affordable housing has had some level of impact
Over 500 businesses participated in the five county
area (Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Sumter.)
The respondents included small and large organizations
from various industries.
As the region's workforce expert, it is our goal for
area employers to use the findings for a resource tool
as they plan for the future. We have highlighted some
