WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, service dogs provide essential assistance, support, and independence to individuals with
physical disabilities, medical conditions, neurological disorders, and mental health challenges; and
WHEREAS, these specially trained animals perform critical tasks such as guiding individuals who are
visually impaired, alerting those with hearing impairments, detecting seizures, assisting with mobility,
and providing therapeutic support for those with post -traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other
conditions; and
WHEREAS, service dogs enhance the quality of life, safety, and dignity of those they assist, serving
not only as helpers but as trusted companions and sources of unconditional love; and
WHEREAS, the training and dedication of service dogs and their handlers reflect a remarkable
partnership built on trust, discipline, and mutual respect; and
WHEREAS, National Service Dog Month offers an opportunity to recognize and raise awareness of
the extraordinary impact service dogs have on countless lives across our communities; and
W H EREAS, National Service Dog Month aims to educate our community about the benefits of service
dogs and the laws protecting their handlers;
WHEREAS, it is fitting that we honor the organizations, trainers, volunteers, and advocates who work
tirelessly to raise, train, and place service dogs with those in need;

the month of September as:
SERVICE DOG MONTH
in the City of Winter Springs and encourage all citizens to recognize the life -changing work of
service dogs and the individua►s and organizations that support them.
