WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA
W H EREAS, on September 17,1787, the Framers of the United States Constitution met for the final time in
Philadelphia to adopt our Federal Constitution, ushering in a new era of democratic governance, and
WHEREAS, September 17, 2025, marks the two hundred thirty-eighth anniversary of this momentous event, and
WHEREAS, by joint resolution dated February 2911952 (36 U.S.C.106), Congress designated September 17 as
"Constitution Day and Citizenship Day," and again by joint resolution on August 2, 1956 (36 U.S.C.108), requested that
the President proclaim the week beginning September 17 and ending September 23 as "Constitution Week", and
WH EREAS, the Constitution remains the supreme law of our land, guiding our republic and safeguarding our
freedoms through its principles of separation of powers, checks and balances, and immutable rights; and
W H EREAS, educating all Americans about the significance of the Constitution fosters civic responsibility, unity,
and the enduring promise of liberty; and
W H EREAS, during Constitution Week, we recognize the contributions of those who have defended and strengthened
our constitutional system, and we celebrate those who strive each day to preserve its principles, and;
NOWTHEREFORE, I, Kevin McCann,MayoroftheCityofWinterSprings,Floridado hereby Proclaim September17,2025
as:
CONSTITUTION DAY &CITIZENSHIP DAY
And proclaim the week of September 17 through September 23, 2025 as;
CONSTITUTION WEEK
in the City of Winter Springs and encourage all residents \to observe this occasion with appropriate
ceremonies, educational programs, and activities that honor the Framers, reflect on our heritage, and
renew our commitment to the principles enshrined in the Constitution of the United States,
