Home My WebLink About2007 02 12 Consent 403 Orlando Business Telephone System - Phase II COMMISSION AGENDA ITEM 403 Consent February 12.2006 Regular Meeting Mgr. / Authorization REQUEST: Information Services requests authorization to contract with Orlando Business Telephone System for Phase II telephone system install at the new Public Works Facility in the amount of $3,368 (already budgeted). PURPOSE: To obtain authorization to contract with OBTS to move current phones and install new phones at the New Public Works facility. CONSIDERATIONS: . Phase I of the telephone system project for the new Public Works Facility was approved on 11-13-06 on Consent 400 in the amount of $13,962. It is now time for Phase II of the telephone system install which consists of the moving of current phones and adding additional phones to fully implement the New Public Works telephone system at a cost of$3,368. The City of Winter Springs is currently in a one-year maintenance agreement with Orlando Business Telephone Systems (OBTS) for the installation, maintenance, and repair of its existing telephone system. Therefore, all work on the telephone existing system must be done by OBTS. Upon approval of this agenda item, OBTS will set up the new system and will install the remainder of the devices which will be integrated into the City's existing telephone system. In addition, we are under contract with them for any maintenance and upgrades to our system and we are familiar with their work product. Additionally, their pricing is equivalent to GSA pricing. Costs for this project are as follows: Mitel equipment: $2,418 OBTS labor: $ 950 $3,368 FUNDING: $3,368 already funded in 3600-64200 for FY 2007 RECOMMENDATIONS: Recommend Commission authorize OBTS to proceed with Phase II for telephone installation for new Public Works facility in the amount of $3,368.
