ANNUAL ELECTIONS
APPLICABLE LAW AND PUBLIC POLICY:
ARTICLE XII, Section 12,01 [City Charter] which states "As provided in Article VIII, Section
2(b) Dfthe State constitution the City of Winter Springs shall have the governmental, corporate
and proprietary powers to enable the city to conduct municipal government, perform municipal
functions an render municipal services and may exercise any power for municipal purposes except
when expressly prohibited by law. [per creation of a Planning & Zoning Boanj/Local Planning
Agency]
Sec. 20-54 [City Zoning Ordinance] which states "There shall be a chairman an vice-chairman of
the planning and zoning board selected from and by the members. They shall serve a term of one
(1) year or until their appointment to the board is terminated, whichever is shorter, unless sooner
removed by the board,"
Sec. 20-57 [City Zoning Ordinance] which states in part ". . . .the planning and zoning board shall
serve as the local land planning agency pursuant to the. . . .local government comprehensive
planning act of the state (163.3174 Florida Statutes, aka the Local Government Comprehensive
Planning and Land Development Regulation Act).
