HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005 06 15 Consent 200 Requesting Approval of TLBD Regular Meeting Minutes April 20, 2005 CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA MINUTES TUSCAWILLA LIGHTING AND BEAUTIFICATION DISTRICT ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING MAY 18, 2005 CALL TO ORDER Chairman Gary Hillery called the Regular Meeting of the Tuscawilla Lighting and Beautification District Advisory Committee to order at 7:02 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2005 in the Commission Chambers of the Municipal Building (City Hall, 1126 East State Road 434, Winter Springs, Florida 32708). Roll Call: Chairman Gary Hillery, present Vice Chairman Rande Thompson, present Committee Member Moti Khemlani, arrived at 7:10 pm Committee Member Helen Baker, present Committee Member Brantley Tillis, present Chairman Hillery led the Pledge of Allegiance. PUBLIC INPUT No one spoke. CONSENT AGENDA CONSENT 200. Office Of The City Clerk Approval Of The April 20, 2005 Regular Meeting Minutes. th Chairman Hillery stated, “The Approval of the April 20 [2005] Regular Minutes.” “I MAKE A MOTION WE APPROVE THEM.” MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER BAKER. SECONDED BY VICE CHAIRMAN THOMPSON. DISCUSSION. CITY OF WINTERSPRINGS,FLORIDA MINUTES TUSCAWILLA LIGHTING ANDBEAUTIFICATION DISTRICT ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING – MAY 18, 2005 PAGE 2 OF 4 VOTE: VICE CHAIRMAN THOMPSON: AYE CHAIRMAN HILLERY: AYE COMMITTEE MEMBER BAKER: AYE COMMITTEE MEMBER TILLIS: AYE MOTION CARRIED. AGENDA NOTE: THE FOLLOWING WAS DISCUSSED NEXT, AS DOCUMENTED, FOLLOWED BY THE REST OF THE AGENDA. PUBLIC INPUT Mr. Tony Marasco, 1311 Deer Run, Winter Springs, Florida: spoke regarding possible brick paving at intersections of Northern Way and new street signs on every street. Mr. Marasco also stated, “I think the [Tuscawilla Lighting and Beautification] Committee is doing a beautiful job.” Committee Member Moti Khemlani arrived at 7:10 pm. REGULAR AGENDA REGULAR 500. Public Works Department – Urban Beautification Division Budget. Mr. Steve Richart, Urban Development Coordinator, Public Works Department presented this Agenda Item and stated, “I would say that we go ahead and try to do the four (4) st Palm trees after October 1 [2005].” Discussion. REGULAR 501. Public Works Department – Urban Beautification Division Maintenance Items And Progress Report. Mr. Richart discussed this Agenda Item. Discussion ensued regarding the problems with the aeration of the South Fountain. Public Works Department – Urban Beautification Division Update On Street Lighting And Decorative Sign Project. Mr. Richart stated, “The key thing to this whole success is that it fits within the methodology and the scope of the original program and that everybody in the Community is going to benefit equally with this project. I am hoping in a couple of weeks to have a preliminary summary report from GSG [Government Services Group] and more information. I will have more information, if anything groundbreaking happens, in a couple of weeks; I will email you and let you know.” Discussion. REGULAR 503. Public Works Department – Urban Beautification Division Update On Landscaping At Tuscawilla Road Main Entrance. Mr. Richart presented this Agenda Item. REGULAR 504. Public Works Department – Urban Beautification Division Update On Low Voltage Lighting To Be Located Behind The Tuskawilla Road Entrance Walls. Discussion. Tape 2/Side A REGULAR 505. Public Works Department – Urban Beautification Division Update On The Cleaning Program For The Entrance Walls. ' Mr. Richart discussed this Agenda Item and stated, “Update on the Pressure Washing ' Program. We did decide last month to go out for Bids and we are still collecting those. We are projecting to cut the costs in half by using a local Pressure Washing Company.” CITY OF WINTERSPRINGS,FLORIDA MINUTES TUSCAWILLA LIGHTING ANDBEAUTIFICATION DISTRICT ADVISORY COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING – MAY 18, 2005 PAGE 4 OF 4 600. REPORTS '' Mr. Richart said, “The Grant Project in Tuscawilla that we did, the State is paying fifty percent (50%) of the Project. This is on Winter Springs Boulevard across from Glen Eagle [Subdivision] in the right-of-way.” Discussion. Mr. Richart continued, “As of Friday, I just found out that we won two (2) more Grants from the State.” Mr. Richart added, “I just wanted you to know, not only are we spending money, but we are bringing money in too.” FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS None.
