Good Morning. The North fountain at the main entrance to Tuscawilla will potentially be down for up to 14 days to effect repairs for the suction line and intake box at the fountain. Something is currently leaking at a fairly high rate and must be repaired without delay. This will also involve draining all of the water out of the pond for the same amount of time. Weeds were less noticeable but they were still visible in some of the ground cover beds and they need to be pulled. With less monthly service visits scheduled over the next few months, it will be important to stay on top of these weed situations before they get out of control. 2. The sweet potato vines planted into some of the planter boxes at the remote entries may become invasive into the nearby plantings during periods of rapid growth. 3. Winter is the best time to cut back the variegated liriope and the ornamental grasses on the site and Steven will need to let us know if he wants this service done. 4. New shoots on some of the Iigustrum trees and a few of the hedge plants need to be removed. 5. Crape myrtle pruning can be done during the slower winter months and we need to only tip these plants, not cut them back severely. 6. We need to cut back the ligustrum trees along the sidewalk at the intersection of Seneca Blvd. a little more such that the growth r.. remaining is inside the sidewalk edge. ~ome of the newly installed evergreen giant liriope plants at the Blue -- Lake Drive median plantings are already showing signs of crown rot due to the crowns of these plants being buried with soil during the planting operation. 8. Both sides of the front entry at Tuscawilla Drive are extremely wet and the irrigation in these areas needs to be shut down or significantly reduced during the winter months. . The weeding of the jasmine beds (# 6 on the inspection report from 11-29) and the annual beds is ongoing and we will make an extra effort over the next few services to concentrate on these items. We did not ignore your original request (received 12-4) to trim theligustrum trees but received it at the beginning of an "off" maintenance week and thus responded to it during the next scheduled site visit. As was the case a few times last year, landscape maintenance issue requests during the winter "slow down" schedule may take a little longer to be completed as we are only on the site every other week (instead of. weekly). This will be especially pertinent when such a request is received just after a service has been completed. Please keep this in mind as our normal quick responses may be more spaced out over the next few months until we resume the normal weekly maintenance schedule this spring. Any landscape "emergencies" will still be given the utmost priority at any time during the year. The minima jasmine plant beds throughout the site are yellowing and showing signs of nutritional needs. 3. The 8 large Nellie Stevens holly trees located along the top of the planter boxes at the main entry have been shaped along the bottom halves and we need to get the top halves of these plants trimmed. 4. New landscaping has been installed on the berm on the north side of the main entry behind the wall and in the medians where site distance problems were present entering the Chestnut Estates Subdivision. 5. Mulching has been completed and looks good. 6. Weeds were visible in some of the minima jasmine beds and they need to be pulled. With less monthly service visits scheduled over the next few months, it will be important to stay on top of these weed situations before they get out of control. 7. The crew was involved in "trimming up" the crinum lilies on the site. 8. The dead pittosporum plants behind the planter box at the Shetland entry have been removed. There are still a few pittosporum plants located here and some of them are heavily infested with cottony cushion scale and this pest is the likely the reason of the recent plant decline and treatments for it are needed. 9. Bush Subject: Help Mr. Bush - Congratulations on your reelection - now I need your help. We live at 1540 Eagle Nest Circle in the Glen Eagle Subdivision of Tuscawilla. As part the "Beautification" Program they are installing street lights along Northem Way. From Shepherd to Michigan all the lights have been on one side of the street opposite the golf course. Then from Michigan to Winter Springs Blvd the lights have been place directly behind the homes so that the lights will shine into our living rooms and bed rooms. Our home which backs up to Northern Way has one of these new lights, which has not yet been connected, placed right infront of our 18 foot window so that we must look at it all the time. We believe that this eyesore will directly reduce the value of our home. There is no need for the light there at all. Please help us solve our problem. We can be reached at 407-366-4866 or ChuckDecker@cfl.rr.coml Chuck Decker Confidentiality Note: This e-mail~ and any attachment to it~ contains information intended only for the use of the individual(s) or entity named on the e-mail.
