Your assurance brings me the highest level of comfort; however, it is in conflict with the care procedures required by
the City and specified by the University of Florida - Cooperative Extension Services Guidelines for Crape myrtle trees.
We have seen these trees die due to pruning before a major freeze.
I look forward to next year when they are trimmed at the end of February.
Take care,

Steven,
Unfortunately. the crew had finished trimming the crapes before we could get your request to them to hold off
until February. I can assure you that trimming them (no matter what time of year) will not lead to a decline in
these plants and surely would not cause them to die and we will file your request away for reference next
year.
Thanks,
Thorn

Thorn,
Weeds in the beds near the entrance signs at Tuscawilla's main entrance have not yet been weeded as per my
requests. These beds MUST be weeded this week, by Friday, without exception. This is primarily the jasmine
beds and the weeds can be clearly seen from Tuskawilla Road.
Please confirm you have received this message.

GiI,
In the past, we have received complaints from Bernadette Kirchner (1589 Warrington Street in Tuscawilla) regarding
a newly installed Northern Way North streetlight shining into her home. You looked into this and wanted her to wait
and see how it looked after burn in. Well, here we are after burn in and no change in the problem.
It seems as though we will need to install a baffle into the streetlight in question as soon as possible. Please let me
know when this happens.
Bernadette can be reached at: (407) 384-5384. Please keep me advised. Thanks.

Proposed flag pole in Winter Springs Boulevard median
January 12, 2007
Regarding the proposed flag pole in Winter Springs Boulevard, I understand that the flag
pole will be approximately 40-feet east of the median nose at the Tuskawilla Road
entrance, and it will be centered in the 12-foot median. This is an acceptable location,
and it meets the applicable FDOT clear zone design criteria, which requires a minimum
of 4-feet from the face-of-curb to a roadside object.

Steven,
We have talked to the crew and they have already been able to get some of the areas west of Northern Way
(including some of the main entry) by working around the construction where possible. They will also continue
to try to get more spots while on the site today and if there are any areas that do not get completed, we will
return no later than early next week to finish up.
Thanks,

You asked me to start the crew at Northern Way and to go east from this point-this would include any areas

am not making any promises until I can discuss everything all around.
Sorry for the misunderstanding,

Steven,
Your concern about the weeds has been noted and has been discussed with the crew. Hopefully, we should
begin to see some quick improvements.
As far as the rescheduling of the mowing, all is correct except that I said to you that we may not get back this
week to do the front entrance. If not, we will get it no later than early next week.
Thanks,
Thorn

I have also noticed the weeds in some of the other entrances are not being properly controlled as well. In particular Seneca
and Winter Springs.

Jeff,
Please repair the broken head (gusher) at the entry feature along Winter Springs Blvd., near Seneca, on the North side,
back-right of sign. I would go ahead and test all zones on all (4) entry features while there. The irrigation timers on the
medians and at the entry signs should all be set to run 1 day per week until we get dry/hot again.
Thanks.

. Good Morning.
The North fountain at the main entrance to Tuscawilla will potentially be down for up to 14 days to effect
repairs for the suction line and intake box at the fountain.
Something is currently leaking at a fairly high rate and must be repaired without delay. This will also involve
draining all of the water out of the pond for the same amount of time.
If anyone should ask or have an issue with this, please have them call my office for additional information.
Have a great day.

P & L LAWN MAINTENANCE
MAINTENANCE INSPECTION REPORT
Tuscawilla Lighting & Beautification District
12/28/06
Thomas Payne
.
1. Weeds were less noticeable but they were still visible in some of the
ground cover beds and they need to be pulled. With less monthly
service visits scheduled over the next few months, it will be important
to stay on top of these weed situations before they get out of
control.
2. The sweet potato vines planted into some of the planter boxes at the
remote entries may become invasive into the nearby plantings during
periods of rapid growth.
3. Winter is the best time to cut back the variegated liriope and the
ornamental grasses on the site and Steven will need to let us know if
he wants this service done.
4. New shoots on some of the Iigustrum trees and a few of the hedge
plants need to be removed.
5. Crape myrtle pruning can be done during the slower winter months and
we need to only tip these plants, not cut them back severely.
6. We need to cut back the ligustrum trees along the sidewalk at the
intersection of Seneca Blvd. a little more such that the growth
r.. remaining is inside the sidewalk edge.
~ome of the newly installed evergreen giant liriope plants at the Blue
-- Lake Drive median plantings are already showing signs of crown rot
due to the crowns of these plants being buried with soil during the
planting operation.
8. Both sides of the front entry at Tuscawilla Drive are extremely wet
and the irrigation in these areas needs to be shut down or
significantly reduced during the winter months.

Steven,
The Iigustrum trees at Seneca and Winter Springs Blvd. were trimmed this week and please advise me if more
removal is needed. The weeding of the jasmine beds (# 6 on the inspection report from 11-29) and the annual
beds is ongoing and we will make an extra effort over the next few services to concentrate on these items.
We did not ignore your original request (received 12-4) to trim theligustrum trees but received it at the
beginning of an "off" maintenance week and thus responded to it during the next scheduled site visit.
As was the case a few times last year, landscape maintenance issue requests during the winter "slow down"
schedule may take a little longer to be completed as we are only on the site every other week (instead of.
weekly). This will be especially pertinent when such a request is received just after a service has been
completed. Please keep this in mind as our normal quick responses may be more spaced out over the next few
months until we resume the normal weekly maintenance schedule this spring. Any landscape "emergencies"
will still be given the utmost priority at any time during the year.
Thanks and "Happy Holidays",
Thom

P & L LAWN MAINTENANCE
MAINTENANCE INSPECTION REPORT
Tuscawilla Lighting & Beautification District
11/29/06
Thomas Payne
.
1. Severe areas of active brown patch fungus are still visible and are
spreading rapidly in the turf behind the entry wall planters on the
north side at the Tuscawilla Road entry and treatments are needed.
2. The minima jasmine plant beds throughout the site are yellowing and
showing signs of nutritional needs.
3. The 8 large Nellie Stevens holly trees located along the top of the
planter boxes at the main entry have been shaped along the bottom
halves and we need to get the top halves of these plants trimmed.
4. New landscaping has been installed on the berm on the north side of
the main entry behind the wall and in the medians where site distance
problems were present entering the Chestnut Estates Subdivision.
5. Mulching has been completed and looks good.
6. Weeds were visible in some of the minima jasmine beds and they need
to be pulled. With less monthly service visits scheduled over the next
few months, it will be important to stay on top of these weed
situations before they get out of control.
7. The crew was involved in "trimming up" the crinum lilies on the site.
8. The dead pittosporum plants behind the planter box at the Shetland
entry have been removed. There are still a few pittosporum plants
located here and some of them are heavily infested with cottony
cushion scale and this pest is the likely the reason of the recent plant
decline and treatments for it are needed.
9. We need to keep the minima jasmine plants trimmed below the signage
lettering in all areas and also keep it from climbing up on the brick
faces.

Subject: Help
Mr. Bush - Congratulations on your reelection - now I need your help. We live at 1540 Eagle
Nest Circle in the Glen Eagle Subdivision of Tuscawilla. As part the "Beautification" Program they
are installing street lights along Northem Way. From Shepherd to Michigan all the lights have
been on one side of the street opposite the golf course. Then from Michigan to Winter Springs
Blvd the lights have been place directly behind the homes so that the lights will shine into our
living rooms and bed rooms. Our home which backs up to Northern Way has one of these new
lights, which has not yet been connected, placed right infront of our 18 foot window so that we
must look at it all the time. We believe that this eyesore will directly reduce the value of our
home. There is no need for the light there at all. Please help us solve our problem. We can be
reached at 407-366-4866 or ChuckDecker@cfl.rr.coml
