Fire Consolidation Workshop
May 21, 2008
\ V"7~~
Consolidation: Advantages
Eliminates the need for fire assessments, and places fire
services costs back on the property tax rolls.
Reduces the City millage to 2.2268, far below the statutory
roll back and maximum millage levy limitations imposed by
last minute actions of the Legislature in this session.
The County MSTU provides a dedicated revenue source for
fire and emergency medical services.
~~k As a result, fire and emergency medical services do not have to
compete with other General Fund services for funding each year.
.a:. Additionally, the taxpayer knows exactly how much they are paying
for fire and emergency medical services.
