REQUEST: Public Works Requesting Authorization to Purchase One (1) Ford F250 4X4 Pick Up
Truck with Utility Body by Piggybacking off of Florida Sheriffs Association Bid #06-
14-0821.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to request authorization to piggyback off of Florida
Sheriffs Association Bid #06-14-0821 for the purchase of one (1) Ford F250 4X4 Pick up
Truck with Utility Body for the Public Works Department -Roads Division at a cost of
$34,522.00 from Duval Ford, Inc.
CONSIDERATIONS:
This vehicle is needed as part of the fleet maintenance and replacement program for the
Public Works Department. The Florida Sheriffs Association has already received bids for the Ford
F-250 being considered under Bid #06-14-0821. The vehicle requested for purchase is a Ford F-
250, 4 wheel drive crew cab with utility body and tailgate lift that will be used in Public Works -
Roads for maintenance of streets, trees, sidewalks and rights of way. The bid price for the Public
Works truck is $34,522.00, which includes utility body and lift gate. This vehicle will replace a
1993 - F350 flat bed truck that reached it useful life and will be auctioned.
FUNDING:
The vehicle purchase of $34,522.00 is within the $38,000.00 budgeted in the Transportation
Improvement Vehicles line code 104-64100. Expenditure of the funds will occur within 90 to 120
days.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that authorization be granted to piggyback off of Florida Sheriffs
Association with Duval Ford, Inc. for the purchase of one (1) Ford F250 4X4 Pick up
Truck with Utility Body truck for the Public Works Department at a total cost of
$34,522.00 payable from the Transportation Improvement Fund -Vehicle line code 104-
64100.
IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE:
The delivery of vehicles will occur within the next 90 to 120 days.
