Specifically, the new expressway/beltway could in fact be a parkway that would provide travelers with a very favorable impression of Seminole County. Tree preservation, landscape beautification and sign control would make this possible. As a first step, we are proposing that billboards along the parkway be prohibited by local governments. The use and control of billboards is recelvmg considerable attention by local governments around the nation. Numerous jurisdictions now ban new billboards completely and require the removal of existing billboards over a certain time period. Information for travelers is provided through standardized signage. Attached is a sample resolution for your review. Other jurisdictions along the expressway will also be considering this action. We are prepared to help you in any way with this effort.
