Regular Meeting uthorization REQUEST: City Manager requesting the Commission to consider recommendation from the Pension Board of Trustees to award RFP 021/09/JD for Pension Actuarial Services to Gabriel, Roeder, Smith, Company. PURPOSE: This agenda item is needed to request the Commission to consider a recommendation from the Pension Board of Trustees to award RFP 021 /09 /JD for Pension Actuarial Services to Gabriel, Roeder, Smith, Company. CONSIDERATIONS: On August 16, 2009, the City issued RFP 021 /09 /JD for Pension Plan Actuarial Services. That RFP closed on September 16, 2009. The City received seven (7) responses. On October 7, 2009, the Pension Board of Trustees met to select those firms that it wished to interview for potential award of contract. The following firms were selected for interview: 1. Bolton Partners, Inc. 2. Gabriel, Roeder, Smith, Company On October 27, 2009, the Pension Board of Trustees conducted formal interviews of these firms and voted 4 -1 to recommend award to Gabriel, Roeder, Smith, Company. Ft1NDING: Base fee for services is $8,862 annually to be paid from the Pension Fund. This fee is guaranteed for 2 years. RECOMMENDATION: The City Manager recommends that the City Commission approve the recommendation of the Pension Board of Trustees to award RFP 021 /09 /JD to Gabriel, Roeder, Smith, Company and authorize the City Manager and City Attorney to prepare and execute a contract for services and /or other applicable documents with Gabriel, Roeder, Smith, Company.
