Dear Dick:
Per the City's request, herewith is the documented tonnage generated
from the City of Winter Springs.

$6492.96
March

$13,017.96

$12,529.89
3 mos. average - 593.34 tons
3 mos. average disposal cost $10,680.27
$10,680.27 ~ 3967 (homes) = $2.69
593.34 x $9.75 (old rate) = $5,785.07
$5,785.07 ~ 3967 = $1.46 per house
The difference is $1.23 per home per month
The difference of $1.50 and $1.23 is equal to 16 tons additional
per month and I submit to you that the weight submitted will increase
dramatically as we get some moisture. At this point in time the
generation of grass and vegetation is almost nil.
The rate requests previously submitted to you were based on the
Solid Waste Generation Report provided to us from the Florida
Department of Environmental. This report is attached.
I respectfully request the City's approval for the continuation of
the $1.50 per residence increase.

MEMORANDUM
July 22, 1985
TO:
City Commission
Mayor
Richard RozanSkY'b-
City Manager
FROM:
SUBJECT: Resurfacing Program - Bids
The staff has reviewed the bids received June 27, 1985, and
recommends we accept the bid received from Mac Asphalt in
the amount of $72,654.50.
While I agree with the staff I have some reservations regarding
the first six sheets on the list. As you know one of our projects
for this year was to correct the drainage problems in the Meadowlark
Subdivision. The engineers/public works director was to have
installed necessary underdrains so as to eliminate the ground
water problem which is most apparent on George Street. To date
I do not believe this has been resolved.
Perhaps underdrains can be installed on George Street in
conjunction with the paving. If so then I see no problem.
If not, I recommend we accept the bid in items 7, 8, and 9
of the bid form.
