MEMO TO: City Manager
SUBJECT: Update of Official Zoning Map
The City's Official Zoning Map has been updated in accordance with Section
44.26(3) .
Since the last certification, in June 1983, only one parcel has been rezoned,
that of 42 acres on the west side of SR 419 across from the new municipal
complex, changed from R-T to R-3.
-
The updated map shows, however, a significant increase in the City's size
from annexations. In the last year, Winter Springs has grown 7 .5~~ with the
addition of 537 acres, to a current total area of 7716 acres (12 square miles).
The majority of the new territory was brought in at Zone R-U because it previ-
ously carried County agricultural zoning. Landowner preferences indicated,
though, that the future development of these lands will enlarge the City's
commerical-industrial base greatly.
Approval of the updated map is requested.
