WORKSHOP SESSION
'CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF IHNTER SPRINGS
AUGUST 31, 1978
The Workshop Session was called to order by Mayor Troy Piland.
Roll Call:
Mayor Troy Piland, present
Deputy Mayor Laurent Pellerin, present
Councilmen:
Tom Craven, present
Burt Logan, present
John Daniels, present
John Sabatini, absent
The Workshop Session was called for the purposes of reviewing the budget. Council
reviewed each Department's manning levels and were in agreement of the following:
The Clerk's Office, total salary of $43,253.11 with a total of 4 Employees;
Public Works Department, total salary of $71,750.88 with 8 employees; Fire
Department total salary of $139,414.74 with 14 employees; Police Department total
salary of $140,333.01 with 14 employees; Dispatchers total salary of $42,727.50
with a total of 6 employees. Council was in agreement of a 5% increase for the
Police Chief, Fire Chief and Building Official and a $500.00 increase for the
City Clerk. It was suggested to separate the Building Department and Public
Works Department, and a figure of $11,000 was set aside for the Public Works
Field Supervisor.
A salary for the City ~1anager of $20,000 and secretary of $7,043.00 was proposed.
The mosquito sprayer's salary was agreed upon at $3,000. Discussion followed.
The budget is to be re-added and distributed due to the many changes.
