REGULAR SESSION
CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS
APRIL 23, 1973
The Regular Session of the City Council of the City of Winter Springs, Florida
was called to order at 7:40 p. m. A pledge of allegiance to the flag was led
by Councilman Booth.
Roll Call:
Mayor Granville Brown, present
Vice-Mayor Troy Piland, present
Attorney Thomas Freeman, present
Councilmen:
Victor Miller, absent
Vicki Baker, absent (excused)
John Booth, present
Cliff Jordan, present
Motion was made by Councilman Booth to approve the minutes of April 16, 1973.
Seconded by Councilman Piland. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman
Miller, absent; Councilman Baker, absent; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman
Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried.
Captain Brinder and Henry Morgan, representing Watson & Company, gave a
presentation of the work done by the Watson Company.
Mr. J. Ray Bradshaw gave a report of the pollution of Gee Creek.

Motion was made by Councilman Jordan that we send a letter from this Council
to the Pollution Board stating our objection to this and give them thirty days
to get it straightened out or other action will be taken. Seconded by Councilman
Piland. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, absent; Councilman
Baker, absent; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland,
aye; motion carried.
Motion was made by Councilman Piland to accept the preliminary plat of the
Highlands, Section Five. Seconded by Councilman Booth. Discussion. Vote on the
motion: Councilman Miller, absent; Councilman Baker, absent; CouncilmanBooth,
aye; Councilman Jordan, no; Councilman Piland, aye; motion defeated.
Wildwood Subdivision Final Engineering Plans and Highlands, Section 1, Final
Plat will be on the agenda for next week's meeting.
Mayor Brown read the letter from Municipal Code Corporation and it was agreed
to have the ordinances typed and offset on an 8i x 11 page.
Longwood Fire Chief Loumler died of a heart attack ~ril' 22 and funeral services
will be held on Wednesday and Mayor Brown will attend, als6 Fire Chief Irwin Hunter
and five fire department officers.
Motion was made by Councilman Jordan to adjourn. Seconded by Councilman Piland.
Motion carried.
