The Regular Session of the Village Council of the Village of
North Orlando was called to order by Mayor Brown at 7:01 p.m.
A pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Councilman Piland..
Roll Call: Councilmen:
Mayor Granville Brown, present Charles Kelley, present
Vice -Magor Charles Rowell, absent Herbert Fox, present
Attorney, Thomas Freeman, absent Tr R.FFurta.prresent
W.The Council Meeting was recessed at 7:04 p.m.. and the Board of
Adjustment Meeting was called to order by Mr. Troy Piland.
Mr. Piland explained that this Hearing was for a variance for a
day nursery for pre-school children for Mr. and Mrs. John Ost,
401 Moss Road, North Orlando.
Objections to the variance were received from Mr. Cliff Jordan,
Mr. Dobson, Mr. and Mrs. Drebert and Mr. and Mrs. Rossiter and
Mr. and Mrs. Hyatt. The Board of Adjustment voted against the
variance because of the objections received.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
The Regular Session of the Village Council was reconvened at
7:10 p.m.
A motion was made by Councilman Piland to move Item 7 up on the
agenda in place of Item 4. Seconded by Councilman Kelley.
Discussion. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Piland that we increase the
Mayor's expense account from $50.00 to $100.00 per month.
Seconded. by Councilman Kelley. Discussion. Motion carried.
A public hearing was held for Mrs. Charles Brooks, 101 N. Bombay
Avenue, for a Special Permit allowing her to have more than two
dogs. Mrs. Brooks was present at the hearing.
A motion was made by Councilman Piland to approve the application
for a special permit for Mrs. Charles Brooks. Seconded by
Councilman Fox. Discussion. Motion carried.
A hearing was also to be held for Mrs. Eleanor Scott, 100 North
Cortez Avenue, allowing her to have more than two dogs. No one
appeared at the hearing requested by Mrs. Scott.
A motion was made by Councilman Fox to take no action on the
-� application for Mrs. Scott because no one was present. Seconded
by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carried.

Mr. Freeman and Mr. Rowell arrived at the
As Mr. Rowell was not present when the motion was made to increase
the Mayor's expense account, he wanted it noted in the minutes that
he would have voted no on that motion because he did not feel that
the Mayor was justified in having two raises in one year.
Mr. Freeman read the second reading of Ordinance No. 70 by title only.

Mr. Freeman read Ordinance No. 70 by title only for the third and
final reading.
A motion was made by Councilman Fox to approve Ordinance No. 70
for the third and final reading by title only. Seconded by
Councilman Rowell. Discussion. Motion carried.
After discussion of Ordinance No. 44 amendments, it was decided
to repeal all amendments, and consolidate them into one amend-
ment.
A motion was made by Councilman Kelley that we send the zoning
board recommendations back to the Zoning Board for further study,
and have a complete review of Ordinance o. 44. Seconded by
Councilman Fox. Discussion. Motion carried.
The City of Longwood asked. Mayor Brown if they could borrow one of
our cadets to fill in during their vacations starting next month.
Chief Bachelor discussed this with Chief Sweat, and he would like
to borrow both cadets for a nine week period. It was decided we
could lend only one cadet.
Mr. Rowell is to get together with the officials of Longwood to
discuss this matter.
Mr. Scott arrived at the meeting to speak for his request for a
special permit.
A motion was made by Councilman Hurt to remove the request for a
special permit for Mrs. Scott from the table. Seconded by
Councilman Fox. Discussion. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Kelley to approve the application
for a special permit for Mrs. Scott. Seconded by Councilman Hurt.
Discussion. Motion carried.

Commissioner Rowell read the letters to the Police and Fire
Departments from Del Bunker, Man ager of the Minter Springs Stables
for their fine services.
A motion was made by Councilman Fox to adjourn the meeting.
Seconded by Councilman Rowell. Discussion. Motion carried.
