draft as I thought it advisable to do so. On the Driveway Section,
I repeated wbat was in their draft and then allowed substitute
driveway designs, it they are the equivalent ot those listed in the
ordinance. on Water and Sanitary Sewerage SysteDUl, rather than list
all the requirements which were repeated trom Ordinance No. 50, I
made a cross reterence to that ordinance. In Section 9 ... SPECIAL
REQUIREMENTS t I have added an I~em No. 1 which requires Skirting
around the bot.tom o:f the trailers. The Council should consider this
ite.and make a determination it tbey want it in there or not. In
s.olt'cion 9 ... SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS t in my revised dra1't, I have left
out Item 1 in their original draft in Section 12 under porches
and additions. It stated that structures ota permanent nature shall
not be added or attached to a mobile home unless such mobile home
is plaoed upon a site conforming to the minimum requirements tor a
moQ:O.e home. It would appear to me that the mobile home has no
business on such a site and it is like telling a fellow that we have
allowed you to put your trailer on a sub-standard site butatter
you have put it on there you can't make any additions or attach any-
thing to it. It seems unnecessary to me and even undesirable to
mention such a possibility.
There was a sentence in the original dra1't that stated that
any decorative entrance ways will be built on the street right of
ways. I am not sure of the purpose or it this is appropriate. There
are no public right ot ways. It a man wanted to build a decorative
entrance way or other decorative structures on his own land it would
seem appropriate tor bim to do so as it is a private development
and what be constructs is his to maintain. Howwver, such a decora-
tive structure shouldn't be on a mobile home site, but I don't
think anybody would try to put one on a aite with a trailer, so I
have just dropped this provision.
,~,:'I have also made some wording and other minor changes in
redraftiI19 it, whioh I hope are improvements. I think there are some
sections that still are unnecessary or too much, but I have not
gone :further into it because I did not understand tbat to be my
ins t rue t ions.
Please read it over and compare it with the original one and
tben perhaps we could talk briefly over the telephone about it.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely yours,
