J.ANUAH.Y 29, 196d The Village Council of the Village of North Orlan~o met in Special Session on January 29th, 1968. 'rhe meeting WaS callecl to order at 7:30 P.I"i. by l1ayor George It'uller. A Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. On Roll Call the following were present: Attorney, Tom Freeman, absent. Councilmen: Charles Rowell Granville Brown Allen Cronk David Jenkins 1-'1ayor, George Fuller Vice-Mayor, Jay Wetz Several calls had. been received. in reference to th~ position of Police Chief, but only 2 applications were turned in; James Eciward Bryant and. Thomas Robert Hennigan. The subject of wages and the location of the Base Station were discussed. The Base Station would still have to be in the home, at least for the time being. The highest the wages could go at the present time would be 340.00, which would include the telephone and the lights. Mr. Hennigan was then interviewed. ami he said that he woulGi be glad to take the position. After the interview, Mr. Hennigan left and the meeting continue.. r- Motion was maae by Mr. Wetz that upon satisfactory results of Mr. Hennigan's references, return of his prints and name run from the F.B.I., that Mr. Hennigan be offered a contract for one ye~, at $340.00 per month, as Chief of Police in the Village of North Orlanao, !t'loricia. Seconded by l-1r. Brown and unanimously approved by Council. ?-10tion was made by 1>1r. Wetz and secondecl by Mr. Brown that the resignation of Robert LaFollette as patrolman in the Village of North Orlando be accepted. Discussion was held. .A letter of thanks is to be written to 1-'1r. LaFollette. Unanimously approved by Council. Motion was made by Mr. Brown and seconded by Mr. Wetz to allow $25.00 for expenses to 1>1r. Freeman to attend a convention for City Attorneys in Jacksonville. Unanimously approved by Council. Motion WaS made by }/f-r. Wetz .mlii secomled by Mr. Brown that the meeting ~ulj ourn at 9 P.}!.
