SPECIAL MEETING
VILLAGE COUNCIL
VILLAGE OF NORTH OR.LANDO~ FLA.
MAY 3~1.966
The Special meeting of the Village Council of the Village of North
Orlando, Florida was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by Mayor George Fuller.
On Roll Call the following were present:
Mayor George Fuller
Vice-Mayor Lloyd Brown
Attorney Johnson
Councilmen: Jay A. Wetz
Charles Rowell
Charles McIntosh
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 2nd were read and approved as
read except for the word "commented" in regards to the Fire Department.
The word should have been commended.
Roll Call vote on Mr. Jack Hipps being duly appointed Councilman to
fill the unexpired term of Ewrightson Harville:
Mr. Rowell- Aye Mr. Brown-Aye
Mr. McIntosh-Aye Hr. Wetz- Aye
Resolution #70 was read, duly appointing Mr. Jack Hipps as Councilman.
11r. Hipps was then sworn in by Judge Johnson.

A Garbage Franchise was read from ROSAR Garbage Service. The announcement
of the new Garbage Service will be made at the next regular meeting, ;June 6th.
Recreation Building is completed and open for activity. The Building
is being used on Saturdays from 9 to 4, when the Little League is at our field.
A letter was read from Frank Fasula, in regards to the dump. The
Council and the Police Department are authorized to control and if
necessary to arrest anyone dumping garbage or abusing the privelege
of dumping.
Mr. Brown read bids from 5 signs Companies for street signs, paint,
stencil:

$292.30 less paint and stencil.
265.25 Complete
215.00 less "Fire Hydrant" sign)
377.54 less stencil, and the
paint is the powdered kind
which they don't want.
237.50 less not parking sign,
paint, and stencil.

The Council was informed that for the time being the county
equipment is not available.

Mr. Fuller asked the Council and Judge Jolmson to come to an
agreement on the traffic tickets. Mr. Brown stated that he felt that
the one receiving tickets should at least pay court costs.
Mr. Lawrence Phillips was interviewed by the Council for Police
Chief.

Motion was made by Mr. Wetz to instruct Mr. Johnson to draw up an
agreement, for Police Chief, as1t.o duties, salary, and phone. This
agreement is to be ready by the next regular council meeting, June 6th.
Seconded by Hr. Hipps. Discussion was held. Unanimously approved
by Council.
Mayor Fuller told of his talk ~ with Senator Mack ClevelanQ.
Mayor Fuller asked the people to think over what Senator Cleveland
had told them, for they are not repeating the truth.
Motion was made by Mr. Wetz and seconded by Mr. McIntosh that the
meeting adjourn at 9:10 P.M.
Unanimously approved by Council.
