HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964 01 18 Special RES owr ION WHEREAS, approximately forty percent of the registered electors of the Village of Borth Orlando, Florida, have manifested their desire for a Charter Board Election by petition, and ;.'HEREAS, uid petition does comply in form and. exceed in number as specified in Cha.pter 166.05 Florida Statutes, and 'WHEREAS, certification of the nues so affixed has been completed by the Village Clerk, and WHEREAS, said Florida Statutes direct that a Resolution shall be adopted.. now, therefore, BE l'f RESOLVED BY 'fms VILLf'tGE COUNCIL OF 'fHE VIUAGE OF NatTH ORLANDO, FLORIDA: 1. Ordering of Election That on the third. Tuesday of KarCh, 1964, an election is hereby ordered to .elect five (5) qualified citizens to comprise .. Municipal Charter Board, whose duty it shall be to review and .uggest revisions, deletions, or additions to the VillAge of Korth Orlmdo, Florida, Charter, and to submit their suggestions to the voters of the Village at a special election to be held consequent to their session and in accordance to chapters 166.10 - 166.12 of the Florida Statutes; said C~rter Board election to be held concurrent to and .1ault8l1eous with the General Elections of the 8ame date. 2. Qualification for Charter Board K_ber8hip Any citizen who shall pos.... the necessary requisites for any other elective office of the Municipality shall be qualified for Charter Board. lIlembership. The rules of General Election candidate. shall apply. 3. Manner of holding Election All laws governing local General Elections shall apply. The names of all candidates for the Charter Board shall be printed on the ballot in alphabetical order, according to the surnames.
