MlETING - OOTOBER 2lstJ 1964
Although a Special CouncU meeting had been called ror 7:30
P.M. at the Civic Association bni,\di'lgJ due to a lack ot quorum no cn-ficial
business could be transacwd.. Present were Hrs. YanEepoel and Hrs. Grinstead.
Attorney Johnson administered the Oath Of Office to Hr. Llo7d
T. BrownJ counci1m.an to finish out the term. of Hr. .&.rthur Ferrin, who resigned.
Mrs. VaDBepoel adrlsed conceming her meeting with the otficials
of,the Suburban Gas Company about the great nUlllber of complaints received.
on their large bills for gas consumed.
She stated that due to the serious
illness and death of Hr. smith, who was in charge of the Subarbaa<Propane
local otfice, there had been a great deal of confusion and .1Iisuaderstanding
about submission of the new rate and hi-monthly bil.J..iDg proposal to the Council.
The new schedule was put into effect without proper authorization or the CouncU.
Hr. York, Hr. Paul, and Hr. Dunier of Suburban are most anxious to straighten out
the situation and agreed that there will be a return to monthly billing i1uIediately.
Furthermore, a list of all canplainants will be given to Suburban and they will
individual~ investigate each complai nt.
IIrs. VanEepoel then read the DeW rate schedule as compared with the
old and advised t hat such schedule will be on rm in the Village Office. She
requested that an,yone dissatisfied with Suburban's bills, leave their name at the
Village office, so that action can be taken.
It was suggested that Suburban be liven a d.eadliM or aot later than
No-.ember 9th to clear IIp misunderstandings and take action on rate inequities.
Mrs. Grinstead adnsed that she hac1 turned in her resignation effective
October 23, inasmuch as she is moving to Cocoa.
Hq'er VanEepoel announced that a clean-up or ditchesJ roads, etc. is to
get under way withiB the next week.
