PROCEEDINGS AT COUNCIL MEETING
VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO, FLORIDA
JUNE 5, 1962, at 8:00 P.M.
The North Orlando Council met with four councilmen in
attendance. Robert Stephenson, Vice-Mayor, presided at the
meeting. In attendance were W.W. Anderson, Clarence Memory
and Roul Stribling.
A resolution designating Ginny Skislak to take minutes
as temporary Village Clerk in the absence of Mrs. Elizabeth
Helmly for this meeting was passed.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
There being no old business, Vice-Mayor Stephenson called
for new business.
Police Chief Jack Sutton said the police car was in the
paint shop.
Henry A. Ward, Jr. requested the council as a body to
contact the County Commissioners for action that the obstruction
at Slade Airfield be removed so the field could be reopened.
He pointed out by use of a map distances of other fieldSin
reference to this area pointing out when the C. A. P. was
on search missions and needed fuel, oil or minor service how
many flying hours can be saved by having this field in use.
A resolution was made by W. W. Anderson and seconded by Council-
men Memory and Stribling to have a resolution drawn up by Mrs.
Helmly or Mrs. Stickland. The resolution was unanimously
approved.

Two notices were read by Vice-Mayor Stephenson. I have
been advised that a contract branch post office according to
the Mayor will be here in July if everything goes according
to plan.
The Mayor also advises there will be a recreation advisor
from Lyman High School starting June 17 from 8 A.M. to 12 noon
for high school students. It is my understanding others not
included attend the recreation area in Longwood.
Respectfully submitted,
