PROCEEDINGS AT COUNCIL MEETING
VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO, FLORIDA
APRIL 3, 1962, at 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Fasula called the meeting to order. In attendance
were: Mayor Fasula, Councilmen Anderson, Memory, Stephenson
and Stripling.
The Village Clerk read the minutes of the previous
meeting held March 9, 1962. The Mayor called for any cor-
rections or additions to the minutes. Hearing none, the
minutes were approved as read.
The meeting was then opened for nominations of appointive
offices. Councilman Stephenson nominated C.H. (Jack) Sutton
as Chief of Police. There being no further nominations, Mr.
Sutton was unanimously elected.
Councilman Stephenson nominated David G. Tilson to be
Assistant Chief of Police. There being no other nominations,
Mr. Tilson was unanimously elected.
The appointment of a Village Engineer was deferred until
a future meeting.
Councilman Stripling nominated Woodrow W. Anderson to be
Village Treasurer, Tax Assessor and Tax Collector. There being
no other nominations, Councilman Anderson was unanimously
elected.
Councilman Anderson nominated F. Stewart Helmly for
Chairman of the Zoning Board. There being no further nomina-
tions, Mayor Fasula called for the vote which was as follows:

Councilmen Anderson, Memory and Stephenson in favor.
Councilman Stripling opposed. Mr. Helmly was elected.
Councilman Anderson nominated Mr. Ambrose Olliff as
Village attorney. There were no further nominations and
Judge Olliff was elected unanimously.
Mayor Fasula appointed Councilman Anderson as a com-
mittee of one to find ways and means of financing the Police
Department.
Councilman Anderson stated that he would like to have
some signs put up throughout the Village to regulate traffic.
A discussion was then held regarding designation of certain
streets as thru streets and a request to the State Road
Department to install stop signs thereat. After some delibera-
tion it was decided to request a traffic survey of the various
streets to determine which streets should be so designated.
Mayor Fasula then stated that signs marked trChildren at Playlr
had been ordered to be erected in the vicinity of the recreation
area and that additional signs would be furnished if needed.
Councilman Memory nominated Councilman Stripling to be
Building Inspector. There being no other nominations, Mr.
Stripling was unanimously elected.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
on motion of Councilman Anderson the meeting was adjourned.
