PROCEEDINGS AT COUNCIL MEETING
VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO, FLORIDA
DECEMBER 5, 1961, at 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Fasula called the meeting to order. In attendance
were: Mayor Fasula, Councilmen Memory, Stripling and Webster.
The Village Clerk read the minutes of the previous meeting
held November 7, 1961. Mayor Fasula called for any corrections
or additions. Hearing none, the minutes were approved as read.
The Mayor called for any reports. Mr. Stephenson stated
that the Christmas party would be held on December 22nd with
Santa distributing candy and fruit to the children.
The Mayor announced that starting on December 11th the
Sub-station of the Post Office would again be opened to handle
Christmas mail, and would be located in Office No. 4 at the
Town Hall.
Mayor Fasula also reported that plans for lighting the
Longwood-Oviedo Road from Highway 17-92 through the Village
to Bennett Street, call for installation of 50 lights.
The Mayor also reported that two signs formerly belonging
to Masterbuilders Corporation had been purchased for the Village
of North Orlando.
Mayor Fasula stated that approval had been given to change
the name of Longwood-Oviedo Road to North Orlando Boulevard,
and that this would be done after the required steps are taken.
The Mayor also announced that the shuffleboard equipment
for the recreation area had arrived and would be available for

the residents' use. Also, that playground equipment had
been ordered.
The Mayor also reported that the Civic Association at
its last meeting had accepted the former Masterbuilders Sales
Office building for a temporary community building, and that
it would be moved shortly to the recreation area by the North
Orlando Company.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
on motion of Mr. Webster, the Council meeting was adjourned.
