PROCEEDlNGS AT COUNCIL MEETING
VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO, FLORIDA
SEPTEMBER 5, 1961, at 8:00 P.M.
M"a\ror Fasula called the meeting to order. In attendance
were: M"a\ror Fasula, Councilmen Memory and Webster. Also in attendance
was Reul T. Stripling.
The Village Clerk read the minutes of the previous meeting
held August 8, 1961. Mayor Fasula called for any corrections or ad-
ditions. Hearing none, the minutes were approved as read.
Mr. Anderson reported for the Civic Association. He
requested same of the residents to come to the recreation area the follow-
ing Saturday to assist with the laying out of the first section for the
shuffleboard courts, volley ball, etc. This area is being prepared for
paving. The M"a\ror stated that he would inquire about clearing the lake
and having it stocked with fish.
Mr. Anderson also reported on his inquiry to Syd Herlong
about a fallout shelter for the Village. He was informed that only two
shelters had been provided for in the budget, one going to Jacksonville
and one to Miami, so that there were no funds available for the Village
of North Orlando.
The Mayor stated that a letter from the Assistant Post-
master had been received regarding a survey of the Village for establish--
ing a new Post Office. The survey to be made is the result of inquiry by
the Civic Association to Syd Herlong regarding the establishment of a
Village Post Office.

Mayor Fasula also announced that the State Board of Health
had approved the water and sewer plant expansion and that bids would be
let out within the next few days.
Mr. Anderson offered the use of the Baptist Chapel for
community meetings.
The Mayor reported that he had had a conference with Mr.
Roy of Southern Bell Telephone Company regarding the survey taken of
telephones. That the Village would remain on the Sanford exchange, but
that residents in the ranch area were desirous of having Winter Park
Telephone service, and that at a later date Council would try to work
out a satisfactory dividing line for the two services.

There being no further business to come before the meeting,
on motion of Mr. Webster, the Council meeting was adjourned.
