Authorization REQUEST: Information Services wishes to present the Commission with several web site design options as well as inform the Commission of the various web site initiatives and time frames for implementation. We request that Commission choose a web site design and provide direction on priority of initiatives. PURPOSE: To provide Commission with several new web site design options as well as request Commission direction and priority on the various web site initiatives and time frames. CONSIDERATIONS: Information Services would like to present four web site designs to Commission and requests that the Commission choose the design they feel best represents the look and feel of our City to the public. The City of Winter Springs web site currently provides a great deal of information as well as many on-line services which were previously outlined in Information Agenda Item 106 on December 8, 2008. These online services include, but are not limited to: • Commission meeting audio with a direct link to each agenda item • eAlerts -online emergency notification system where users can sign up to receive emergency notifications on specific topics • Calendar -contains important meeting and event dates CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS CITY COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING -JANUARY 26, 2009 REGULAR AGENDA ITEM 610 PAGE 2 OF 3 • Online utility bill payments • GovQA - a method by which citizens can submit comments or requests to City staff and/or officials • Listing of licensed arborists • RSS Feeds • Document search • An improved website search function • KIVA/Accela Wireless related items -provided in a separate Regular Agenda item #609 Below is a list of web site initiatives along with their corresponding time frames. The estimated time frame for completion of each item is listed below. Police -Online Sign-up for training courses which will 30-60 days allow citizens to sign up for training classes offered by the Police De artment Police -Training course videos such as Internet safety, 180 days protecting your home, bullying, drug prevention information, etC. -there are currently no training courses available. Police will work with Winter Springs High School on video roduction. Police -House check request online - we currently 30-60 days offer the PDF form online but hope to make this an actual online fill-able form with a submit button Police -Self reporting -enables citizens to fill out their 12 months own police report for insurance purposes. Orange County currently offers such a service. Need time to research this.
