Home My WebLink About1985 08 14 Planning and Zoning Board Regular Minutes PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 14, 1985 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Smedley at 7:35 p.m. ROLL CALL: Robert Smedley, Chairman, Present Taru Joshi, Present Richard DeFazio, Vice-Chairman, Present Jon Hall, Absent Gene Dorman, Present CITY OFFICIAL: Peter Cowell, City Planner, Present APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JULY 24, 1985: Taru Joshi made a motion to approve the minutes of July 24, 1985. Seconded by Gene Dorman. Vote: All aye; minutes approved as submitted. AMENDMENT TO PUD PRELIMINARY PLAN-DAYRON CORPORATION/BIG CYPRESS ASSOCIATION, LTD. Peter Cowell, City Planner gave presentation. Chairman Smedley stated that making a change from PUD to C-l is a rezoning. Cowell stated that the City Attorney advised him to submit this as an amendmentto the PUD Plan. Chairman Smedley recommended to the Board that a zoning amendment from PUD to C-l is a rezoning. The Board took a 5 minute break to try and contact the applicant toget his approval to change the application from an amendment to the PUD Preliminary Plan to a rezoning request. Richard DeFazio made a motion to amend the application to change the zoning at the direction of the owner's representativeq contingent upon a letter from the owner being submitted to the City Planner for the owner's okay of a change of zoning. Seconded by Taru Joshi. Vote: All aye. Motion carries. Chairman Smedley made a motion that the application for rezoning from PUD to C-l be approved contingent upon receipt of the letter requested for modification. Seconded by Richard DeFazio. Vote: All aye. Motion Carries. There was a request made by the Board in the form of a motion that the City Planner work on the Commercial Zoning Code and report back to the Board with his recommendations in October. The Board requested that a copy of the minutes be given to the City Manager with the request that Mr. Cowell's time be made available for this activity.
