PLANNING & ZONING BOARD MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13, 1985
7:30 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Smedley.
ROLL CALL:
Robert Smedley, Chairman, present
Taru Joshi, Vice-Chairman, present
Richard DeFazio, present
Jon Hall, present
Michael Boyd, absent
CITY OFFICIAL:
Peter Cowell, City Planner, present
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JANUARY 23, 1985
Ms. Joshi moved to approved the minutes as submitted. Mr. Hall seconded.
Vote: all aye, Minutes approved as submitted.
PARKER REZONING FROM RU to C1
City Planner presentation. Applicant was not present for meeting.Discussion.
Mr. Hall made a motion to table this particular request of Mr. Parker's 47
acre tract until a representative and/or Mr. Parker himself can explain to
the Board his intentions. Motion dies for lack of second. Discussion. Mr.
DeFazio made a motion to accept Mr. Parker's rezoning application for 47
acres on the property along 419 at the railroad under the C1 zoning
classification he has requested. Ms. Joshi seconded. Vote: DeFazio, aye;
Joshi, aye; Hall, nay; Smedley, aye. Motion carries, request approved.
HANRATTY REZONING FROM RU to C2
City Planner presentation. Applicant was not present. Discussion. Mr. Hall
made a motion to deny the request for rezoning of Mr. Hanratty's property
from RU to C2 zoning, (as being inconsistant with zones of the abutting
properties). Mr. DeFazio seconded for discussion. Discussion. Vote: all aye.
Motion carries, request denied.
Mr. DeFazio made a motion to forward information to the City Commission to
advise them that on the 42 acre tract along 419 received November 1, 1984
from Charles Cottle to consider the possibility of C1 zoning vs C2 zoning
on the south side of 419. Hall seconded. Discussion. Vote: DeFazio, aye;
Joshi, nay; Hall, aye; Smedley, nay. Motion fails, request denied.
PLANNING AND ZONING CODE
The Staff and Board have reviewed C1 section of the City Code and will be
reviewing C2 znd C3 on Monday March 18, 1985. When all 5 sections have been
reviewed and codified, the code will be returned to the Planning & Zoning
Board for recommendations.
