• Based on previous polling data and feedback from Ranchlands residents over the years,
public opinion regarding the desire for paved streets is mixed. Staff recommends
conducting anon-binding straw poll to determine the level of public interest in the
Ranchlands paving program. The straw poll would be mailed to all property owners
abutting the dirt roads proposed for paving. The planned process and timeline for the
straw poll and reporting of results is as follows:
o Commission review and approval of straw ballot and informational flyer -Feb 23
o Straw Ballot Mailed -Early March
o Public Information Meeting -Mid-March
o Straw Poll Return Deadline -Late March
o Report Results to City Commission -April
FUNDING: None
RECOMMENDATION:

conducting a straw poll of property owners in the Ranchlands.
