Item 1. In reference to the Florida Land Highlands
Planned Unit Development request for preliminary plat approval. Staff
has reviewed submitted plats and find that they are consistent with the
intent and purposes of the Planned Unit Development. Attached to the
preliminary plats you will find the Engineer's report .as well as the
Attorney's comments in reference to this subject.
Staff feels that Florida Land Company should provide a state-
ment as to the existing recreational facilities being adequate to handle
the additional increase in residents once these sections are developed.
The Engineer has questioned the location of a fire hydrant.
Response from the Fire Department was that it did not create a problem.
Upon submission of final plats the developer must adhere to the Police
Department request in reference to traffic control and public safety
signs. This subject was not approached during this preliminary review.
I have asked Gary Massey, City Attorney, to be in attendance at the next
Planning & Zoning Board Meeting in order to answer any questions pertaining
to procedures that must be followed in approving these changes.

The Building Department has noted that there were no street lights
shown on the preliminary plat and would ask that it be noted in any recommenda-
tion forwarded to the City Council.
