Zoning Commissioner Hunter CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Vice Chairman Sines HINUTES: Minutes of the meetings of March 18 and April 15 were approved as submitted. FLORIDA LAND CO. ANNEXATION REQUEST: Based on an oplnlon by the city attor- ney contained in an April 21 letter to Vice Chairman Sines that the P&Z Board has no legal authority to involve itself in this matter except at the request of City Council, the Board agreed to pass the matter on to Council for action. The members did agree unanimously, however, that, if City Council so requests, the Board will involve itself in this matter ... to the extent directed by the Council, including holding a Public Hearing and making a recommendation to the Council. All correspondence received by the Board to date relative to this matter has been forwarded to the city clerk. r TUSCAWILLA P.U.D. PLAN CHANGE: Sines reported on action taken by the Council on this matter at its April 19 meeting. REVISED P.U.D. ORDINANCE: Sines reported on action taken by the Council on this matter at its April 19 meeting and reminded the Board of the Hay 24 Pub- lic Hearing called by Council. REZONING REQUEST BY l-1R. JON ZABEL: Mr. Zabel and Hr. "Hat" Hattaway - ti.'lTO of the owners - appeared in connection with Mr. Zabel's petition to rezone 103 lots from R1-A to R1. They said they seek the rezoning to permit the construc- tion of homes smaller than 1,100 square feet to make development of the proper- ty more attractive to builders. MOTION: On a motion by Newsome, seconded by Cottage, the Board voted unani- mously to call a Public Hearing on the request for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27 , and authorize the city clerk to handle the required legal notice. Mr. Zabel agreed to fill out the Board's new application form, including sup- plying the names and addresses of all property owners within 500 feet of the boundary of all of the lots on which rezoning is requested, plus supplying two stamped, addre-ssed envelopes for each.
