Winter Springs Planning & Zoning Board
fI"""'
MEMORANDUM
April 9, 1976
TO:
Members, Winter Springs P&Z Board
John Newsome, Secretary ~W
P&Z Board Meeting April S, 1976
FROM:
HE:
Since Don Sines and I were the only members present on April S, there
was no official Planning & Zoning Board meeting. Some information was ex-
changed during the unofficial session, however, that you should know.
1) Marlene Rossiter has resigned, effective immediately.
2) City Council will hold a Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Ap-
ril 19, on the request by Gulfstream for a change in the Tuscawilla PUD
Preliminary Development Plan. Please make every effort to attend.
r
3) Apparently there has been no activity at the Council level on the
new PUD Ordinance recommended by the P&Z Board.
4) You will recall that the P&Z Board received a request from Florida
Land Co. to rezone to commercial a tract at the intersection of Seminola
Boulevard and South Edgemon/S'l.ms~t Drive. Because of some question about
whether or not the property is within the city, the P&Z Board wrote Florida
Land Co., suggesting they seek an opinion from the city attorney. Now the
P&Z Board has received a letter from Florida Land Co., dated April 6, seek-
ing annexation of the subject parcel into the city... apparently having
been informed by the city attorney that this is the best route to travel,
althou h the P&Z Board has received no corres ondence from the cit attorne
on this mat ere At he next P&Z Board meeting, we will discuss the request
and hopefully initiate the required legal process to put this question before
the Council.
5) Allen Bush, the new city planner, reported that he has been given
the No. 1 priority of assisting the Planning Commission in preparing the
Comprehensive Plan prior to June 30, 1976, and that his relationship with
the P&Z Board will be severely limited by this mandate.
6) Don Sines, as vice chairman, will remain the presfding officer of
the P&Z Board in this capacity until a replacement for Mrs. Rossiter is se-
lected and the Board holds elections.
7) The next meeting of the Board will be next Thursday, April 15, at
the usual time; please make every effort to attend:
