PRESENT: Charles Holzman, Fire Chief; Ron Emery, Public Works Supt.;
Jacqueline Koch, City Planner; Jack Cooper, City Engineer
and Bob Raeder, Building Inspector.
ENGINEERING FOR NOWSCO SPRAY IRRIGATION EFFLUENT DISPOSAL SITE EAST OF BAHAMA
AND SHORE ROADS.
Mr. Gerald Chancellor and Mr. Jim English, Engineers, were present.
The City Engineer stated for the force main they are requiring three street
cuts, for the spray irrigation site no permits are required, however for
the improvements to the sewer plant a building permit will be required
which needs to be taken out prior to corrmencement of construction. Mr. Cooper
stated one qualifying factor he must insist upon is that in the event the
spray irrigation system intrudes upon the Creek it will have to be rerouted.
They were reminded when plant improverrents were initiated (particularly the
concrete work) it would be subject to inspection by the Building Inspector,
Bob Raeder. The contractor must be made aware of the fact that prior to
covering steel - the City wants to inspect the soils and the steel to insure
they do confonn. The City Engineer stated he would want a copy of the bid
on the sewage treatment improvements prior to issuance of a building permit.
The whole area will be fenced. The Building Inspector suggested a five-foot
high fence deleting the barbed wire. "No Trespassing" signs are to be in-
stalled at the road and also at the point where it narrows. The possibility
of installing a gate to preclude anyone from entering the road was discussed.
The City Planner stated the fence would have to conform to the City Code
and that approval is contingent upon the engineer's letter and the second
,gate as well as the "No Trespassing" signs.
