Grimms said that warehousing is allowed in the C-2 district, and there shouldn't be a nuisance. It should first be decided to have a new zoning for the entire city before designating a new zoning for a specific site. Owen asked if the Commerce and Industry Development Board or the Planning and Zoning Board's request is sufficient to start the ball rolling. Grimms said sure, but he has seen in other places where the Commission decides on a new zoning. Dittmer agreed that it has to start from a demand point. Members reminded Grimms that a motion was passed at their last meeting in support of the new zoning. Owen said that Casselberry and Oviedo has three (3) zoning classifications: C-1, C-2, and 1-1. Longwood has four (4) classifications: C-1, C-2, 1-1, and 1-2. Altamonte Springs has eight (8). During a discussion of adult entertainment establishments, Grimms read excerpts from the adult entertainment ordinance. McGinnis said that if the Commission votes against it at the July 14, 1997 meeting, then maybe a little more homework can be done and the issue can be revisited in a couple of months.
