Commerce and Industry Development Board
May 14,1997 - Regular Meeting
I. Call to Order
Chairman Glickman called the meeting to order at 8:20 a.m. in the conference room, Municipal Building.

3. Approval of the April 9. 1997 Regular Meeting Minutes
Moved by Owen; Seconded by McGinnis; Motion carried to approved the minutes as read.
4. Update on the Economic Development Commission meeting-Mqy 21. 1997
Chairman Glickman reminded the members to attend the meeting.
5. Traffic Circulation Element Update
Grimms stated that the Commission will be addressing the issue of lowering impact fees. Owen added
that the site plan review is also not competitively priced, and suggested that the city offer an incentive with
annexations. EX: "No impact fees for the first ten years". There was discussion of industrial site locations,
and Grimms said that the character of the community will not change.
Regarding Former Member/Chairman Jim Lup, McGinnis asked if he ever received a thank you from the
City for his service on the board.
Grimms displayed a map, and discussed a proposal for a Winn Dixie to be built at Tuskawilla Road and
S.H. 434 which would be in the Town Center. At the last workshop, City Commission discussed having a
village center within the Town Center area.
Plans for Lake Drive, Shepard Road, and Panama Road (Winter Springs Loop) were briefly discussed.
6. Update on Impact Fees-Dittmer letter to City Manager
Included in the Item #5 discussion.
7. Adjournment
Chairman Glickman adjourned the meeting at 8:55 a.m.
