MINUTES
COMMERCEIINDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT BOARD
NOVEMBER 8, 1995 MEETING
1. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Lup at 8: 15 a.m.
2. Roll Call:
Jim Lup, Chairperson, present
Sally McGinnis, absent
Jackie Gieseler, present
Mel Glickman, present
Walt Dittmer, present
3. Approval of October 1 L 1995 Minutes:
Chairperson Lup asked if there were any comments to the minutes. Dittmer moved that the minutes
be aproved. Gieseler seconded. Vote: All ayes. Minutes stand approved as presented.
4. Old Business:
Chairperson Lup stated that last month he would reimburse his company the dollar sent by a city
inquirer (postage expense); however, he decided to return the dollar to the man.
Chairperson Lup said he would have the second item under Old Business ready for the next meeting.
Glickman said that Seminole County is not going to have a business expo this year. Gieseler said that
she called the Small Business Office at UCF, and they didn't have any information on any upcoming
shows. Next year, the Expo Center will possibly hold a "World of Franchise" show, and the cost of
the two day show will be approximately $1600.00. Chairperson Lup asked if someone would get
information about the Orlando Chamber, Small Business Expo. Glickman said he would find out
something.
5. New Business:
The item listed under New Business was tabled until the board could find an expo to attend.

Glickman said that the City of Longwood went to every business in Longwood and dropped off a
survey. The survey consisted ofall possible questions that anyone would want to know of what any
business thinks of the city. Glickman said he would bring the survey to the next meeting. Chairperson
Lup said that a report was done years ago at Winter Springs. He said he will bring the report to the
next meeting.
Glickman said he has talked to a gentleman regarding the map which the board has been discussing;
and the gentleman mentioned asking the map company to give the city a rebate per copy.
Chairperson Lup said that the best thing to do would be to write a letter to the city manager asking
for the city attorney's advice.
Glickman said that Sally McGinnis' mother has been ill, and Sally has been on the go. He will ask
her if she will be attending the next meeting.

The meeting was adjourned by Chairperson Lup at 8:40 a.m.
