MINUTES
COMMERCEIINDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT BOARD
SEPTEMBER 13, 1995 MEETING
1. Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lup at 8:20 a.m. in the conference room of the city hall.
2. Roll Call:
Jim Lup, Chairman, present
Sally McGinnis, present
Jackie Gieseler, present
Mel Glickman, absent
Walt Dittmer, absent
Glickman arrived.
3. Approval of July 12. 1995 Minutes:
Chairman Lup asked for approval of the July 12, 1995 minutes as read. McGinnis moved to approve.
Gieseler seconded. Vote: All Ayes. Minutes stand approved as read.
Dittmer arrived.
4. Old Business
(a) Letter regarding a periodical meeting between Commission and Boards. and (b) Status on internal
procedure for city inquiries: Chairman Lup passed out draft copies to all of the board members for
discussion and revisions.
Chairman Lup introduced the new member, Jackie Gieseler. She is the owner of Dixie Printing on
Hwy 427 since 1984.
(c) Discussion of advertising ideas: Discussion on setting up a booth at an expo. Glickman said he
would get all the details ready for the next meeting.
5. New Business:
(a) New Brochure: Glickman has distributed the new brochures to the Seminole Chamber of
Commerce and to the Highlands. McGinnis said she would distribute some brochures to the
Seminole County Libraries and the Economic Development Board. She also suggested sending the
Oviedo Voice, Sanford Herald and the Seminole Extra a copy.

(b) Discussion of August 7. 1995 Sunshine Law Workshop: Glickman said it was interesting to learn
that it was such a tough law. Chairman Lup said he learned to wait until the meeting to discuss
anything.
A year ago or so the city received from a map company, a piece which had the same pictures as in
the brochure but in black and white, with advertisements and a map. Chairman Lup asked Glickman
to find out if the company was planning any future solicitation. Mailing was the only cost to the city.
Brief discussion on the new elementary school on Shepard.
Chairman Lup asked the recording secretary to make sure he gets copies of minutes from all the
boards and Commission meetings.
McGinnis said she heard the Winter Springs Golf Course is in the process of being sold.
Dittmer mentioned that he is starting to build the "rounditt" billboard and it will be placed at 17-92
and Shepard Road.

Chairman Lup adjourned the meeting at 9:20 a.m.
