'. ~ COMMERCE & INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT BOARD APRIL 28, 1993 The meeting was called to order at 8:10 a.m. BOARD MEMBERS: Mayor Philip A. Kulbes, Present Walt Dittmer, Present Gene Jones, Absent Me 1 G 1 i ekman, Present Jim Lup, Present Charles McGinnis, Present Approval of Minutes of February 10. 1993: Dittmer moved to approve the minutes of February 10, 1993. Mayor Ku 1 bes . Vote: A II aye. Seconded by New Business: Introduction of New Board Merrber Charles McGinnis: McGinnis stated that he is new to the area and is originally fran Maryland. He gave the Board a brief introduction of his background. Lup told McGinnis what the Board's objective is and what they are doing. Old Business: Update on City Cammunity Map: Mayor Kulbes stated that the map stated that he sent the written back, and said that he is waiting is finished except for the back panel. He information that the Board wanted on the for the pictures. Update on Brochure: G 1 i ckman stated that the Board has been work i ng on the brochure in Ju 1 y "92". He said that the City Attorney, as a result of a letter that was sent to Lup on Sept. 1st, by the City's Purchasing Director, stating that there may be a conflict with Glickman doing the work on the brochure. Glickman stated that the Board has asked the City Attorney to give us an opinion whether there is a conflict or not, and that was nine months ago. Glickman then stated that he has been trying to get in touch with the Attorney as the Attorney said he has an answer to the question of the conflict. He said the Attorney finally said that in his opinion that if he did the brochure it would be best to resign from the Board and come back at a later date. Discussion. Mayor Kulbes said he would call Attorney Lang and get an answer. Discussion. Glickman said that he is resigning fram the Commerce and Industry Development Board so he can do the work on the brochure. Lup stated that he wou 1 d keep Glickman's seat open so he can come back on the Board when the brochure is finished. Mayor Kulbes mentioned that the City is purchasing land along Edgemon Avenue, Moss Road and S.R. 419 for a new police station and we will be reserving a 300' strip along S.R. 419 for commercial development. . . , . . . . .. Mayor Kulbes spoke about the publishing company who was interested in cooming into the City and said that now they are not and he said he would find out what happened to their plan.
