WINTER SPRINGS COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 11, 1990 The Commerce and Industry Development Board Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ruth Smith at 4:00 p. m. Roll Call: Mayor Leanne M. Grove, absent City Manager Richard Rozansky, absent Chairman Ruth Smith, present Gene Jones, present Roger Owen, present Jim Lup, present Janet Helms, present Motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Lup to approve the minutes of September 13. Discussion. Vote: all ayes, motion carried. Old Business: Review of additional surveys received; visitation report and format compilation report: There was discussion of the surveys received. Roger Owen reported on his visit with Excaliber Creative Customs, 1255 Belle Avenue. Mr. Rhodes, owner, had several problems which were all related to parking. Mrs.Sniith-reported she met with a small business on Belle Avenue that manufactures handicapped bathtubs. She also met with Walt Dittmer of Dittmer Aluminum on Shepard Road and with Mr. Dan Woods of the Winter Springs Golf Club. Mr. Woods is offering the golf course for sale in the amount of$4,800,000. Janet Helms presented lists she compiled from all the surveys that were received. One list was the nature of businesses, one list was the overall trends of the firm, their opinion of the City and the third list was the overall trends of the firm, the key issues. The Board discussed and reviewed these lists and said they would make a report' to the City Commission after these lists are all finalized. Mrs. Smith suggested then the Board start listing all the specific properties such as the "Piggly Wiggly Shopping Center" to start looking into. Janet Helms suggested the Board put together a business directory that could be provided to all the businesses. Mrs. Smith will prepare a letter to the City Manager asking to be placed on the Agenda for October 22 to tell the Commission the Board's next project. Motion was made by Mr. Lup, seconded by Mrs. Helms to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Mary T. Norton, City Clerk
