WINTER SPRINGS COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT BOARD MEETING THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 1989 The meeting of the Winter Springs Commerce and Industry Development Board was called to order by Chairman Ruth Smith at 4:00 p. m. Roll Call: Mayor Leanne M. Grove, present City Manager Richard Rozansky, present Chairman Ruth Smith, present Alan Fickett, present Jon Hall, present Jim Cooper, present Tom Binford, present Also present: John Horner, Outlook Motion was made by Tom Binford to approve the minutes of Dec. 8, 1988 and Jan. 19, 1989. Seconded by Mayor Grove. Vote: all ayes; motion carried. Chairman Smith said that she had a meeting with Bob Lewis, the Executive Director of the Chamber, and they are very anxious to work with us on this. She stated that we should be thinking about a nice cover design for the brochure and the inserts that can be taken out. Discussion. Chairman Smith said Mr. Lewis gave her a video tape of Seminole County. Chairman Smith said she received a call from Mr. Moti Khemlani, president of the Tuscawilla Homeowners Association, and that they are very concerned what this Board is going to do. At the next meeting of the Tuscawilla Homeowners Association which is scheduled for April 6, 1989 at the Keeth Elementary School at 8:00 p.m. Chairman Smith said she would attend to answer any questions they may have, and listen to what they have to say. Dr. Fickett also offered to attend. On the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, Chairman Smith said the Board will be waiting for word from the Planning & Zoning Board when they have reached the point of getting on with the new plan. Then our plans will have to coincide with theirs, and we will have to have representation at each of those meetings. Miss Koch is going to be giving this Board the demographics of Winter Springs as it is right now, and from that we can "springboard" our brochure. Dr. Fickett asked the status of the proposed commercial zoning code and Manager Rozansky said he thinks the Commission intends to bring it up again. The next meeting will be March 9th at 4:00 p.m. Chairman Smith said she could bring her VCR to review the tape of Seminole County. Manager Rozansky suggested having a meeting with the Chamber's Commerce and Industry Board. Meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Mary Norton, City Clerk
