REQUEST:
The City Manager is requesting that the City Commission provide direction
regarding the City Clerk's Office providing administrative support to the
Chairperson of the Council of Local Government's in Seminole County
(CALNO).
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this Agenda Item is to have the Commission provide direction
regarding the City Clerk's Office providing administrative support to the
Chairperson of the Council of Local Government's in Seminole County
(CALNO).
CONSIDERATIONS:
The administrative support to the Chairperson of the Council of Local
Government's in Seminole County (CALNO), is usually provided by staff at the
Office of the Chairperson.
During the current calendar year, the Chairperson for the Council of Local
Government's in Seminole County (CALNO), is Deputy Mayor Cindy Gennell of
the City of Winter Springs; therefore, the administrative support currently is being
provided by our City Clerk's Office.

The City Clerk's Office estimates that an average of two (2) hours per month, is
spent on administrative work, which typically includes:
· The formatting of the monthly Agenda.
· Making copies of the Agenda.
· Making copies of the Minutes (which are usually typed by the City Clerk's
Office where the last CALNO Meeting was held).
· Mailing out monthly packages (including the Agenda and Minutes) to all
CALNO members.
· Posting the Agenda in the Lobby at City Hall.
· Updating the CALNO Member List, (when necessary).
· Typing and mailing "Thank You" letters to Guest Speakers who attend
CALNO Meetings.
Occasionly, more than the average two (2) hours per month may be spent on tasks
associated with CALNO. Such additional duties may include assisting the
Chairperson with telephone calls or typing facsimile letters pertaining to CALNO
business matters.
CALNO does not meet during the months of July and August.
FUNDING:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Commission is being asked to provide direction regarding this issue.
IMPLEMENTATION:
The City Manager will of course follow the direction of the Commission.
